Marek Djordjevic

Owner, Marek Djordjevic, Inc.

Marek Djordjevic, 45, was born in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia and received his degree at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He began his career at BMW Group, initially based at BMW DesignworksUSA and later at various studio locations in Europe, where he worked on the design of BMW concept and production cars, as well as Mini, MG and Land Rover models during BMW’s ownership of Rover Group.

Djordjevic was with BMW Group for 15 years and is most known for his exterior designs of Rolls-Royce Phantom, the market leader in the super luxury sector, and the experimental, centenary one-off, Rolls-Royce 100EX. His work there also includes the exterior designs of the Phantom Drophead Coupé and the Phantom Coupé.

At Rolls-Royce Djordjevic played a key role in establishing a London-based studio where the new Phantom was created. The car was acclaimed by BBC Top Gear magazine as “the best car in the world.” The bespoke 100EX has been hailed by Esquire  magazine as “the finest car ever to bear the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot and, therefore, the best luxury car ever.”

Djordjevic did more than design the new Rolls-Royce cars. He worked alongside company directors to determine the marque’s future direction, product portfolio and communications. He also worked closely with international press and broadcasters and established direct relations with individual customers around the world.

In September of 2005, Djordjevic, at the time head of exterior design at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and creative director at BMW DesignworksUSA’s automotive studio, left BMW Group to set up Marek Djordjevic Inc, an independent strategic design and premium brand development agency.

Marek Djordjevic Inc, based in Los Angeles, focuses on land, air and sea vehicles and lifestyle products. It caters to a wide range of clients – from individuals to industrial conglomerates and explores new ideas in exclusive vehicle design, product planning, strategic brand and concept development.

Sharing his professional knowledge, insight and passion, Djordjevic has also been lecturing as Adjunct Professor at Art Center College of Design for over 10 years, fostering the future of creative professionals in Advanced Transportation Design.
