Speech Topic：Interaction Design in the Connected Age
Whether you are buying groceries online, hailing a taxi through your smartphone or having your wearable talk to your home thermostat, interaction design is all around us. The rise of digital technologies is creating new brands and consumer behaviors that need a constantly evolving design process.
In this talk, I will share my interaction design process, tools, dos and don’ts, that you can apply to your current or future projects.
Geetika Agrawal is a Creative Director at R/GA New York, with 10+ years experience designing interactive products, services, spaces and communications for global brands such as Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, MasterCard, MTV, Disney, Samsung, Nokia, Microsoft, AARP, Barnes & Noble and Walmart. Her team’s work has been featured at TEDIndia, Fast Company, CES and won several industry awards including 2013 Cannes Silver Lion. She is part of the R/GA Connected Devices Accelerator Services Team that helped launch start-ups in connected devices and IoT space in 2014 and 2015.
Geetika is also an Adjunct Professor at School of Visual Arts in New York teaching Interaction Design to 3rd and 4th year students. She has judged award shows, guest lectured at institutions like Ecole Intuit Lab, IxDA, Girls Who Code and advises young designers on a regular basis. She holds a Masters in Industrial Design from Art Center College of Design, California and a Bachelors in Interior Architecture from CEPT, Ahmedabad, India.
