Eric Darnell
Director, founder of Baobab Studios

Eric Darnell is chief creative officer and co-founder of Baobab Studios. The company's Emmy-award winning VR animation, “Invasion!,” received strong critical acclaim. Baobab’s second animation, ASTEROIDS!, was an official 2017 Sundance Film Festival selection and their latest, Rainbow Crow, made its premiere at Tribeca Film Festival this year. Eric’s career spans 25 years as a computer animation director, screenwriter, story artist, film director, and executive producer. He was the director and screenwriter on all four films in the Madagascar” franchise, which together grossed more than $2.5 billion at the box-office. He was also executive producer on The Penguins of Madagascar. Previously, Eric directed DreamWorks Animation's very first animated feature film, Antz. Eric earned a degree in journalism from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in experimental animation from The California Institute of the Arts.

Alex Schwartz

Alpha Animation Studio

Alex Schwartz is Head of Production at Alpha Animation Studios. From 2008-2015 Alex worked for DreamWorks Animation Studios where she served as head of development. Her projects included How To Train your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda 2, Madagascar 3, Shrek 4 , Puss In Boots, The Croods and Home. She also produced the feature film Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Alex began her entertainment career in 1991 at Walt Disney Studios’ Touchstone Pictures. While at Touchstone, she oversaw such titles as What’s Love Got to Do With It, Sister Act, Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion and Rushmore. Alex has a B.A. from Boston University and an M.A. from NYU.

David James
Production Designer

David james is an animation production designer, his filmography includes the animated features Flushed Away, Monsters vs Aliens, Megamind, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and Dreamworks hit The Boss Baby. Mr james began his career as a concept designer, visual development artist and art director on numerous films including, the Road to El Dorado, Spirit Stallion of the Cimmaron, Sinbad; Legend of the Seven Seas and Over the Hedge. David james currently teaches in the newly formed entertainment design department at Art Center College of Design and is working as the director of visual development at Warner Brothers Animation Group. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.

Manfred Fitzgerald
Head of GENESIS Brand

Manfred Fitzgerald, appointed to Hyundai Motor Company’s Senior Vice President in 2016, leads the Genesis brand as he is in charge of establishing and executing strategies for the brand. For the brand to set a strong foothold in the global luxury car market, he will take a core role in brand strategy, marketing and other business operations within the Genesis brand. Mr. Fitzgerald, 54years old, brings about 20 years of expertise and experience in luxury car brand strategy and marketing. During his twelve year career at Lamborghini, Mr. Fitzgerald played a pivotal role in transformingLamborghini from a prototypecar company to a luxury car brand. Mr. Fitzgerald studied Business Administration and Economics at University of Cologne in Germany. He is fluent in English, German and Italian. He currently resides in Seoul, Korea.

Frank Stephenson
Car Designer

Frank Stephenson is an American/Spanish car designer who has designed a wide range of successful automobiles for various manufacturers. After graduating from ArtCenter College of Design, Frank began his career in 1986 with Ford Motor Company in Germany. In 2002 he went to Ferrari and Maserati as their first ever Design Director. There he was responsible for the designs of the Ferrari FXX Super Enzo and the the Maserati MC12 Stradale, among many other acclaimed cars. He then became Design Director for Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo. From 2008-2016, Frank was the chief designer for Mclaren. His portfolio includes McLaren12C, P1, P1 GTR, 650S, 675LT and the 570S. Insiders regularly refer to him as “one of the most influential car designers of our times”.

Jingfeng Shao
Director, SAIC MOTOR R&D Center Design Department

Mr. Shao Jingfeng is the design director in SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Technical Center. Mr. Shao Jingfeng worked for Shanghai Volkswagen after graduation, during when he designed NEEZA concept car, new PASSAT Lingyu, LAVIDA and many other successful production cars. Mr. Shao Jingfeng has been responsible for Roewe and MG car design since 2011. In 2015, he launched Roewe VISION-R concept car with new generation Roewe design language--rhymic design. and be used in new Internet car Roewe RX5 and and Roewe i6. They both earned great market success. In 2016 he launched new MG design language - emotional design. Meanwhile many new MG cars are launched successfully together like MG ZS. In 2017 Shanghai Autoshow, he launched Roewe Vision-E and MG E-motion concept cars, which indicates the future direction for SAIC new energy cars! With Roewe RX5's design, Mr. Shao Jingfeng has won the 64th German IF Design Award in 2017.

Shan Wei, Design Director of BAIC Motor Co. Ltd., Master of Design Arts, Deputy Leader of Design Group in SAE-China (Society of Automotive Engineers of China) , Contributing Review Expert of China Automotive Model Design Competition. Since 2007, Shan Wei has been the Director of BAIC Motor Co. Ltd. Design Department. In ten years, he built a design team with whole style design process professional development capabilities for BAIC domestic brand. Shan Wei leads, organizes and participates in “BEIJING” brand Off-road Series, “SENOVA" brand Series, “WEVAN brand” Series and BAIC BJEV partial vehicles concept development, style design work.

Eric Gallina is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Form Trends (https://www.formtrends.com), a title that covers vehicle design and the people that work in the industry. Besides writing about concept and production car designs and interviewing designers, Eric is also a photographer, videographer, editorial consultant and social media strategist. With more than a decade of experience in the automotive design industry, Eric attends worldwide auto shows, student design exhibitions and Concours events the world over. He is also a regular contributor to Auto&Design magazine, Automotive News and Ward’s Auto. Before launching Form Trends, Eric was Chief Editor of Car Design News from 2006 to 2012.

Bruce Heavin is an artist, strategist, and entrepreneur. As the Chief Creative Officer & co-founder of lynda.com, his creative vision was integral to lynda.com’s success as a leader in online training. He created the company’s iconic logo of his wife Lynda Weinman, designed many of the distinctive illustrations on the website and course DVD covers, and authored some of the site’s first video tutorials in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and ImageReady. An illustrator with experience in both traditional and electronic media, Bruce graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. With an extensive background in illustration, photography, and motion graphics, he has created illustrations for national publications as well as clients including Adobe, MSNBC, and E! Entertainment Television. Bruce was elected to the Art Center Board of Trustees in 2014.

Prof. Li Zexiang
Chairman, DJI

Zexiang Li co-founded several companies with his colleagues and students from the Automation Technology Center, including Googol Tech (the first motion control company in China), DJI (a leading company in UAV and flycam products), QKM Tech (an automation company providing excellent robot products and services to manufacturers world-wide) and ePropulsion (an innovative provider of high-performance marine electric propulsion systems). LIU DE, graduated from ArtCenter College of Design, is the co-founder, vice president, and secretary of the Party Committee in Xiaomi Inc., and is currently in charge of Mi Ecosystem. Edward Saatchi
Co-founder, Oculus Story Studio

Edward Saatchi is Primetime Emmy-Award and Lumière Award winning cofounder of Oculus Story Studio, Oculus' former in-house virtual reality movie studio. He produced Story Studio's three award-winning VR movies Lost, Henry and Dear Angelica and Story Studio aswell as Quill by Story Studio, the team's painting application. Lost was the first VR realtime movie and premiered at Sundance 2014, Dear Angelica was met with positive acclaim at Sundance 2017 and is currently the highest rated VR movie on the Oculus Store. TechCrunch said it was a movie "that will still be worth watching in 20 years".
